Sunday in the Nandi Hills

It was Sunday and we went for a rest from the noisy and dusty city of Bangalore to the beautiful Nandi hills. Only an hour´s drive from the city there was an open land full of fields, small villages and palm trees. We visited the Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple dedicated to the God Shiva and his Black Bull, which is 1200 years old. Apart from the beautiful masonry, old chariots and monkeys we could relax by sticking our feet into a temple pool with tiny fish that were nibbeling at your feet. In the afternoon, we went to a vineyard but were allowed to only drink coconut water! Apart from boring wine grapes we just enjoyed a lazy afternoon with a bit of rest and good food while a thunderstorm watered Bangalore in the distance.
